“Like most, I do have my favorite artists. Mine are Degas, Sargent and Caillebotte but they were not available for this invitational. Luckily however my favorite living artist happens to be my husband and he was available. Jon has been a painter all his life or at least for the past 55 years. We both got MFA’s at the University of Wyoming but about 20 years apart. In addition to doing our own work, for the past 10 years we have been teaching Drawing and other studio classes at UW. Hardly a day has gone by without art or teaching being a topic of conversation. This May we retired so the teaching topics have faded. We don’t see things or paint things the same, but I think I can say we both like what the other makes. Jon is also good at fishing, remodeling and doesn’t mind doing dishes.”
